Boots & Prairie Candle

This candle is fondly named after my two cats, Boots and Prairie. Boots is a tuxedo Scottish Fold that I got as a kitten from my mom. She adopted his momma cat, Fifi, from a neighbor that was moving out of town and couldn’t take the cat with her. Little did anyone know that Miss Fifi had a late night rendezvous at some point and got herself knocked up. Pretty soon there was a whole gaggle of black kittens and my mom asked me if I wanted one. But which one?! My mom then told me that she knew a pet psychic and that I should call her to see what she thought. I called. The psychic asked me where the kittens were located and the name of the momma cat. She then quieted after I gave her the information. I waited. Then she said “You should take the large male with the markings.” Bootsie was the largest male and the only one with any white on him. I’ll let you decide now if animal telepathy is real or not. He now enjoys solar charging in the yard, 2nd breakfast and catnip.

Prairie also came to me by some sort of divine intervention. I had had a dream about a Tabby cat and two weeks later I was at a baby shower and was chatting with another guest. Animals always seem to come up in conversation. She said she had a momma cat adopt her by just showing up and then moving in and then having two kittens. She told me that the male kitten was already spoken for, but jokingly did I need another one. I asked what the kitten looked like and she said it was a little Tabby. I thought that was weird. I agreed and said I could come by in two weeks when she was old enough to be weaned. When I arrived she looked exactly like the cat I had seen in my dreams. Apparently it was meant to be! Prairie now enjoys singing me the song of her people, stealing her bother, Bootsie’s, food and sleeping on my keyboard. She’s so helpful…
